Tips to help you make a successful community grant application
When awarding Community Grants, we especially like to concentrate on the following categories:
- Children/education
- Community Groups
- Active Lifestyles
- Environment
- Health Promotion
- Elderly
- Homelessness
- Fairtrade
- Arts & Culture
- Charity
If you have a community project that falls into one of these categories, we want to hear from you!
First of all, make sure that your request adheres to our guidelines. There are some costs that we cannot help with, such as travel and accommodation, so take some time to read over the ‘Grant Selection Criteria’ at the back of the form which tells you what you can and cannot apply for.
Give a breakdown of costs for your project. If we are not able to cover the full cost of the project for which you are applying for funding, there may be elements that we can support, so give as much detail as possible.
Your group, club or project as a whole will probably already benefit the community but we want to hear how a Community Grant from Scotmid will have a positive impact. Make sure you refer specifically to the project or activity for which you are applying from funding when you’re telling us how you can make a difference to your community.
