Semichem gives £2,500 beauty boost to Prostate Cancer UK at Pout

Semichem has helped raise more than £2,500 for Prostate Cancer UK at Pout 2013 – the ladies lifestyle event held at the Edinburgh Corn Exchange on 21-22 September.

Semichem, which was one of the official sponsors of Pout 2013, raised the funds by selling beauty goodie bags for £5 each at the exhibition stand, with 100% of the proceeds donated to the retailer’s official charity partner.

The Semichem team welcomed hundreds of people at their stand over the two day event, with makeup experts from Rimmel and Collection on hand to offer free makeovers and demonstrations. Visitors to the Semichem stand had the chance to get a free spray tan from St Moriz in a mobile spray tan booth, try beauty products and receive beauty advice. The beauty bar team from Semichem’s Livingston store were also there to provide eyebrow threading, nail art and eyelash application.

Kimberley Guthrie, Director of Marketing for Semichem said: “We are delighted to have raised over £2,500 for Prostate Cancer UK, our new charity partner, who do amazing work to help more men survive prostate cancer and fund vital research. We’d like to thank all of the people who visited our stand and bought goodie bags for this terrific cause.”

She added: “Semichem was very proud to sponsor Pout 2013 and our team had a fantastic time at the event. It was a great opportunity for us to showcase some of the latest trends in beauty and fragrance, as well as providing some pampering for visitors at our stand, including spray tans, makeovers and beauty advice.”

Prostate Cancer UK is Semichem’s new charity partner for 2013/2014. The retailer, which is part of Scotmid Co-operative Society, helped raise more than £260,000 for Maggie’s Centres in 2012/2013.
